STANLEY AND HIS DEMON

a two-act stage play presented by Poppet Theater. buy tickets now >>

January 2nd – 3rd + 9th – 12th, 2026
at the New Marigny Theatre in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Stanley’s just a cult church leader who performs exorcisms for fun and profit (mostly profit, if he’s being honest, which he rarely is.) He and Esme, his wife and the first lady of the Church of Stanley, might not believe in anything they preach, but they certainly do believe in the donations they’re raking in from their congregants.

The grift is going just as planned until one exorcism doesn’t go quite as expected. Much to Stanley and Esme’s surprise, this possession is legitimate…and a very real, very ambitious demon is about to follow them home.

Presented by the theater company behind Human Troubles and Out of the Boil, Stanley and His Demon is a devilishly hilarious dark comedy about the existential horror of being human.

This is your invitation to find out what happens when demons make better company than anyone else around you.
